We're delighted to welcome internationally renowned soprano Kate Royal to lead this year's John Seldon Masterclass. Kate has very kindly agreed to work with three HCO young singers and to take part in a following Q&A session.

Kate enjoys an illustrious career spanning opera, recital work and recording. Educated in Bournemouth at Talbot Heath School, she studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio. Awards include the 2004 Kathleen Ferrier Award, the 2004 John Christie Award, and the 2007 Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award.

Due to current restrictions on gatherings, the masterclass will be held using zoom. This of course presents a great opportunity for many more people to join us, wherever you're based.
