Introduction

Internationally acclaimed soprano Patricia Rozario OBE will lead a classical singing masterclass, working closely with a handpicked group of promising emerging artists. Throughout the session, she will share her extensive expertise and artistic insight, guiding each participant in vocal technique, interpretation, languages, and stage presence. The masterclass offers a valuable opportunity to observe the development of young vocal talent under the mentorship of one of today’s most respected operatic artists.

Patricia Rozario OBE

Patricia Rozario OBE is a Bombay-born British soprano.

 

Born and educated in Bombay, India, she went on to study at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

 

She performed at the English National Opera, Opera North, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and the Garsington Opera in England, and has performed on stages across Europe in Aix-en-Provence, Brussels, Frankfurt, Ghent, Innsbruck, Lyon and Stuttgart.

 

One of her most notable appearance was across Europe in The Marriage of Figaro, conducted by Sir Georg Solti. She has also given concerts in the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and as part of The Proms in England, and abroad in Amsterdam, Athens, Berlin, Halle, Helsinki, Hong Kong, Cologne, Leipzig, Madrid, New York City, Paris, Riga, Rouen, Strasbourg, Vienna, Winterthur and Zürich. She performed in a production of Elvis Costello’s Meltdown.

 

Rozario has made numerous recordings of the works of composer John Tavener. She was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 2001. Rozario is currently a professor at the Royal College of Music and Trinity Laban.

Panaretos Kyriatzidis

London-based pianist and conductor Panaretos Kyriatzidis is in demand as a collaborative performer, vocal coach and musical director. Panaretos has won the Gerald Moore Award, Emmy Destinn Awards Accompanist Prize and the London Song Festival duo prize, and has been a Britten Pears and Oxford Lieder young artist.
 

Panaretos completed his postgraduate studies with distinction (Master of Music, Postgraduate Artist Diploma) at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where he was subsequently appointed as Junior Fellow in Piano Accompaniment for two years and was awarded various prizes for solo piano, accompaniment and chamber music. He has performed extensively across the UK and broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.

 

With a passion for smaller-scale and community opera, Panaretos has worked extensively in the fringe, with accolades for productions he musically directed including an Olivier Award nomination and an Off West End Award (Offie) for best opera production. He is also co-founder and musical director of The Opera Makers, a dynamic opera company aspiring to broaden the reach and potential of fringe and studio opera. This August they will be presenting their ground-breaking La bohéme and their first operatic adaptation for children: Mr Punch at the Opera, based on Pergolesi’s La serva pardona, at Grimeborn festival.

 

Panaretos (aka Pan) is a vocal coach at Trinity Laban and head of opera studies at Morley College. He hails from the Greek island of Thasos, holds a BA in Law and is an avid food lover.

Emma Humann

Emma Humann is an American soprano who is currently studying for her Masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music for Vocal Studies. This past summer she played Pamina in Keystone Opera’s production of The Magic Flute. She went to Oberlin Conservatory where she received her Bachelor's degree in Music. It was at Oberlin where she had her operatic debut as Fanchette in Offenbach’s Le Mariage aux Lanternes. She also covered the role of Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel for the Vienna Summer Music Festival in 2021. She has performed in cities such as Prague, Vienna, Salzburg, Leipzig, Dresden, London, Cleveland, and Philadelphia. She looks forward to playing the role of Tormentilla in The New London Opera Group’s production of Vaughan Williams’ The Poisoned Kiss.

Hayley Meth

American mezzo-soprano Hayley Meth, originally from New York, is currently in her second year of postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studies under the tutelage of Samantha Malk. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Classical Vocal Performance from McGill University in Montreal.
 

While at Guildhall, Hayley has performed in a range of concerts and staged works, including two appearances in the Songs at Six recital series—first featuring Strauss Lieder, and later focusing on Expressionist song. Her operatic scene work at Guildhall includes selections from Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Adamo’s Little Women, Bizet’s Carmen, and Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin.
 

In the summer of 2023, she was a Voice Fellow at Opernfest Prague, where she had the opportunity to perform with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra in the historic Smetana Hall.

Previous credits include Annio (cover) in La Clemenza di Tito, Mrs. Hildebrand and Mrs. Olsen in Street Scene, Dritte Knabe in Die Zauberflöte, Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro (Palisades Opera), and Ludgarde in La Croissade des Dames (Opera McGill Horizons).

Eamonn Walsh

Eamonn Walsh, a 25-year-old tenor from Cork, Ireland, is currently completing a Masters in Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance as a Kathleen Creed Scholarship recipient. He previously studied Music at Maynooth University as an Entrance Scholar, graduating with a First-Class Honours degree in 2021.


Eamonn has performed roles at Trinity Laban including Ferrando (Così fan tutte), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Rodolfo (La Bohème) and Tom Rakewell (The Rake’s Progress). Eamonn is a Wild Arts Opera Young Artist this Summer, touring the UK with Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love and covering Nemorino. He recently made his Wigmore Hall debut, performing in a masterclass with tenor Nicky Spence. Eamonn works with teachers and coaches including Eamonn Mulhall, Robert Botriell and Dr. Matteo Dalle Fratte. 


He has performed internationally, including staged opera scenes in Feltre, Italy and worked with the Irish National Opera Chorus in Fidelio and Carmen. As a soloist he has sung oratorio such as Haydn’s Creation, Mozart’s Requiem and Handel’s Messiah, with performances across Ireland and the UK. In Ireland, Eamonn sang for the RTE Christmas & Easter broadcasts and toured with the award - winning Maynooth University Chamber Choir. Eamonn was a choral scholar at Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin.
