'An unexpected feast of top-drawer opera' Will Frampton, Bournemouth Echo,
on Magic Flute, April 2019
'...one of the most enjoyable nights at the opera I have ever experienced. Some of these singers were not just already fit for performance with an established company, they were among the better singers I have seen in their role.'

'...Two promising young singers on the threshold of glittering careers gave an outstanding recital... Both singers, already equipped with considerable experience in opera, conveyed admirable poise, intelligent musicianship and flawless techniques.'

It was with great regret that due to the Covid-19 outbreak we had to postpone the performances of Cosi scheduled for 7 and 9 April. We intend, however, to reschedule the opera as soon as is practicable. Meanwhile we are delighted to welcome Kate Royal to lead this year's John Seldon Masterclass by zoom on 30 June, details below. Plus you can hear HCO singers' lockdown performances by clicking on the button above. Plans are underway to adapt more of our activities for these changed circumstances - do keep an eye on the website for announcements. Supporting young singers as best we can and enabling you to share in their work remain our top priorities. Thank you for your support of us, and we send our best wishes to you all.
